Linking Michiana’s second annual job fair will be hosted at The Howe School (formerly known as Howe Military School) in Howe, Indiana on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Our goal is to have 40 companies, colleges and organizations! This event will be open to veterans, the general public and teens!
Booth fees this year are $40 each. All proceeds from this event will go towards The Howe School’s scholarship program. If you are not in a position to host a booth this year, a monetary donation would be greatly appreciated. Last year’s job fair raised $785 for Lakeland High School’s Athletic Department.
Some employers participating this year are: American Axle Manufacturing, ProResources, Aerotek Staffing Agency, Wal-mart Distribution, Guardian, Employment Plus, Wells Fargo and more! Linking Michiana is also paying tribute to our veterans and active duty military by including Friends and Family Supporting Our Military (FAFSOM) – a support group for veterans; and Families for Freedom – a support group for families of active duty military. Both organizations will be present to reach out to our community. Another special addition to Linking Michiana’s job fair this year, is PMC Computers & Surveillance, of Kendallville, will set up several computers for job seekers to apply for positions online!
The Howe School, a co-educational, college prep, leadership, and military boarding school for grades 7 – 12, was established in 1884 with funds from the estate of John Badlam Howe. For over 127 years, The Howe School has been enriching values and providing advanced education to students from all over the world.
Linking Michiana is a free online resource for employers and job seekers to share job leads and referrals in Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan. Their website links to external tutorials to assist job seekers and provides moral support and helpful resources through featured articles. Linking Michiana also utilizes Facebook to share additional tips and hiring news.
For two years, Linking Michiana has been giving their time to assist job seekers with their resumes, find job leads, and participating in networking events. Since June 2012, Linking Michiana has been hosting periodic bowling socials at AMF Sturgis Lanes in Sturgis, Michigan.
